Urethral Slings are used to treat the urinary incontinence which refers to the involuntary passing of urine. The leakage of urine may happen when you cough, laugh, sneeze or lift anything. It may be caused due to common distressing problem which may appear due to the vaginal or urinary tract infection. Urinary incontinence may also arise due to constipation, certain medications or weakened pelvic muscles.
The urethral slings are a narrow strap which is placed under urethra. This synthetic mesh helps to lift the urethra and neck of the bladder. To place the sling will take about one hour but the recovery will take about 6-8 weeks.
