Laser hatching is a process that improves the chances of implantation during IVF. It helps the embryo implant into the womb. As the name suggests, a highly focused infrared laser is used to remove the outer shell, ZonaPellucida, of the embryo. When this outer shell fails to rupture on its own, there is a need to deploy some artificial energy to hatch the embryo.
In the early days, only mechanical and chemical ways were used to hatch the eggs. In the Laser hatching, it needs less of handling and time. As the process is faster, the embryo spends less time outside the incubator
